Fantasy Avatar (Part 1)
For this project, I wanted to make my Fantasy Avatar based on Seattle Seahawks player Tariq Woolen. The reason I chose him for this assignment is because some have given him the nickname "Avatar". The reason for this is for his freakish size and speed, similar to the Na'vi from Avatar. I thought this could make for some very unique images by incorporating various aspects of the Seahawks design. This includes various patterns and logos present on the jersey. While the sketches utilize similar elements, they are each able to create unique designs that still stay true to the original Na'vi.
For my next design (top right), it contains similar aspects to the first one. In the center of his forehead is the feather pattern design, similar to what some Na'vi's have on them. Above his eyes are a feather type pattern, again representing the wings of the hawk. It also include the basic designs the Avatar's have on their cheeks.
In the third design (bottom left), I utilized a sharp wing pattern all around his head, with the feather design going down the center of his face. This was very tribal looking and I think it fits in perfectly with the movie. I also removed the cross that is present on his face to try and create a more accurate look to the actual Avatars.
The last image (bottom right), includes a unique wing pattern present on his forehead. It also has a line going down the middle, which is something most Na'vi have on their face. The cheeks include the feather pattern in a circular shape. This creates a cool effect and adds more depth to the image.
